Ola Electric plans to open over 3,200 new stores, significantly expanding its current network of 800.Ola Electric, India's leading electric vehicle company, announced a major expansion of its retail presence, aiming to quadruple its company-owned stores to 4,000 by December 20, 2024. This ambitious plan will establish India's largest EV distribution network, reaching every pin code in the country and significantly boosting EV access and adoption. The expansion includes co-located service facilities, strengthening Ola Electric's service network nationwide. The company aims to democratize electric mobility and bolster the domestic EV economy.
Ola Electric plans to open over 3,200 new stores, significantly expanding its current network of 800. This expansion comes as traditional two-wheeler manufacturers increase their EV offerings through established dealer networks. Ola Electric’s current store count is significantly smaller than its competitors. The company intends to accelerate EV adoption, particularly in hinterland markets which represent the core of two-wheeler sales in India.
“While India is swiftly moving towards electric mobility, Ola Electric’s massive network expansion will be a pivotal moment in the country’s journey towards #EndICEAge. With our wide D2C network and the touchpoints under our Network Partner Program, we will cover the entire country beyond tier-I and tier-2 cities. It will enable our best-in-class product offerings to democratise electric mobility, adding buoyancy to the domestic EV economy,” stated Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of Ola Electric.
Service centers plans
The expansion plan builds upon initiatives announced in October 2024 to enhance sales, after-sales, and overall ownership experience. The original goal of reaching 2,000 stores by March 2025 has been doubled to 4,000 stores by December 2024. This accelerated rollout underscores Ola Electric's focus on expanding into larger, underserved markets.
The co-location of service centers with the new stores will further support Ola Electric's recently launched #HyperService initiative. This initiative aims to enhance customer service and after-sales support. This extensive network expansion will significantly improve customer access to both sales and service support across the country.
