Nawgati's digital platform streamlines the process, enabling operators to manage refueling and payments efficiently.
Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) and Nawgati have partnered to promote CNG adoption among commercial fleet operators in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad. This initiative, part of MGL's CNG Mahotsav 2.0, offers incentives for purchasing new CNG vehicles or retrofitting existing ones.

Nawgati, a fuel aggregator startup, will manage the fleet program, providing a digital platform for refueling payments and fleet management. The program aims to encourage a shift from petrol and diesel to the cleaner-burning CNG.

MGL's CNG Mahotsav 2.0 provides incentives based on vehicle type and tonnage. These rewards encourage fleet operators to transition to CNG as a more environmentally friendly fuel option. Nawgati's digital platform streamlines the process, enabling operators to manage refueling and payments efficiently.

Online platform
Fleet operators can register on the MGL Fleet Platform online to set up accounts, add vehicles and drivers, and manage refueling at participating MGL CNG stations. This platform simplifies the transition to CNG and offers a centralised hub for fleet management, the company said in a media release.

A dual payment solution will be available through the MGL Fuel Card, usable physically or virtually. Operators can tap their physical card at POS machines or pay digitally via the MGL Connect app or Nawgati Fuelling app. These cards will be accepted at participating MGL CNG stations and select BEST bus depots.

Vaibhav Kaushik, Co-founder and CEO of Nawgati said: “At Nawgati, we are proud to partner with MGL in operating the fleet program for MGL CNG Mahotsav 2.0. We are deeply invested in helping MGL make transitioning to CNG a seamless experience for eligible fleet operators, and make payments through the MGL fleet card, the MGL Connect app, and the Nawgati app. Moreover, we believe this collaboration will pave the way for a greener future in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad, and in the coming time across the country."

As a technical partner, Nawgati supports MGL’s closed-loop payment system. This system ensures smooth transactions for fleet owners who participated in the CNG promotional scheme. This collaboration promotes CNG sales and supports environmental goals. Both companies aim to improve urban air quality and promote eco-friendly fleet management, the company said.

Nawgati and MGL signed a separate MoU earlier this year to integrate the MGL Tez app with the Nawgati Fuelling App. This integration allows commercial vehicle owners to pre-schedule refueling slots at participating BEST bus depots, eliminating wait times.
