The company cited rising costs due to inflation and increased commodity prices as the reason for the adjustment. Mahindra & Mahindra attempted to absorb some of the increased costs but will pass a portion onto customers.
“The adjustment is in response to the rising costs due to inflation and increased commodity prices,” Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.
The price hike will affect various SUV and commercial vehicle models, with increases up to a maximum of 3%.
“The automaker has made efforts to absorb as much of these additional costs as possible however, a portion of this increase will need to be passed on to customers,” it added.
Other OEMs who have announced price revision
Mahindra and Mahindra join other auto OEMs in announcing their price revision from January 2025. Maruti Suzuki, JSW MG Motors India Hyundai India, Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz India, and Nissan have earlier announced their vehicle price hike attributing to increasing commodity and operational costs.
M&M electric SUVs
Recently, M&M has launched two new electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6e, built on their new INGLO platform. Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e are launched at INR 18.9 lakh and INR 21.9 lakh.
The company has launched BE 6e pack 1 - INR 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom) ranging upto INR 20.36 lakh (on road price). The XEV 9e ex-showroom is launched at INR 21.90 lakh with ranging upto INR 23.59 lakh (on road price).
