JSW MG Motor join other auto OEMs in announcing their price revision from January 2025. JSW MG Motor India has announced a price increase of up to 3% across its entire model range, effective January 2025. The automaker attributed the hike to rising input costs and external factors. This adjustment aims to offset the increasing costs of production.
The company explained that the rising input costs and other external factors have made the price adjustment necessary, while acknowledging efforts to minimise the impact on customers.
“Our dedication to quality, innovation, and sustainability remains a priority and drives us to improve our offerings continuously. In doing so, minor price adjustments are inevitable to offset the rising input costs,” said Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India.
“While the company tries to minimise the impact on customers, a marginal price increase shields it from inflationary challenges,” he added.
Other OEMs announce price revisions
JSW MG Motor joins other auto OEMs in announcing price revisions effective January 2025. Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai India, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz India, and Nissan have also announced vehicle price hikes, citing increased commodity and operational costs.
Strong Sales Performance
JSW MG Motor India reported a 20% year-on-year sales increase in November 2024, selling 6,019 vehicles. This growth was largely driven by strong demand for the company's New Energy Vehicles (NEVs).
The MG Windsor led NEV sales for the second consecutive month, with over 70% of the company's November sales attributed to NEVs. This underscores the growing significance of NEVs to JSW MG Motor India’s revenue and market strategy.
