The project will initially deploy 100 charging stations across 50 German cities, with two stations per city, the company said in a media release.
Servotech Power Systems, an Indian EV charger manufacturer, and LESSzwei GmbH (LESS2), a German sustainable development company, have partnered to develop and deploy solar-powered EV charging infrastructure for micromobility in Germany. The project was announced on December 9th, 2024.
This project, called "EnerMAAS," aims to create a sustainable charging ecosystem using AI-driven energy management. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and will run for 2.7 years. Servotech will manufacture the charging stations, while LESS2 will handle AI and app development. The project will initially deploy 100 charging stations across 50 German cities, with two stations per city, the company said in a media release.
AI-enhanced solar BIKE-ports
This partnership aims to transform existing photovoltaic systems and energy storage into innovative street charging points called BIKE-Ports. These stations will provide 100% solar-powered charging for e-bikes, e-scooters, and e-cargo bikes. Each BIKE-Port can simultaneously charge four two-wheelers with a total output of 3.3 kW, ensuring fast and reliable charging around the clock.
Servotech will initially supply 100 systems, with two charging stations deployed in each of the 50 selected cities. This partnership combines Servotech's expertise in solar energy and EV charging infrastructure with LESS2's IT technology and energy management solutions. LESS2, a globally acting German enterprise, supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of sustainable development in the infrastructure sector.
The "EnerMAAS" project has secured grant financing from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). This funding will support the project's development and implementation over its 2.7-year duration. The partnership between Servotech and LESS2 marks a significant step towards creating a more sustainable and efficient urban transportation system in Germany.
Raman Bhatia, Founder & Managing Director, Servotech Power Systems Ltd., said, “We are excited to partner with LESSzwei GmbH on this groundbreaking project. This collaboration aligns perfectly with Servotech’s vision of accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy solutions and establishing a strong international footprint. By leveraging our expertise in solar energy and EV charging infrastructure, we are confident that the EnerMAAS project will revolutionize the way we power micromobility in German urban areas.”
This project allows Servotech to expand its international presence and showcase its expertise in solar-powered EV charging solutions. For LESS2, it provides an opportunity to contribute to Germany's sustainable development goals and implement its innovative energy management technologies. The partnership aims to deliver a transformative solution for the growing German micromobility market.
