ChargeZone, an EV charging network in India, has appointed Pritesh Kumar as its Director of Business Development. Kumar brings nearly two decades of automotive industry experience to the role. His appointment aims to bolster ChargeZone's expansion plans, enhance customer engagement, and strengthen partnerships within the EV sector. ChargeZone plans to significantly expand its charging network this fiscal year, adding numerous supercharging stations across India.

His role and responsibilities

Pritesh Kumar will oversee several key areas at ChargeZone. These include bolstering B2B and B2C operations, maximising network utilisation through targeted marketing and CRM initiatives, and scaling Battery-as-a-Service solutions. He will also focus on improving infrastructure efficiency and expanding access to ChargeZone's services throughout India.

Pritesh Kumar’s professional background includes leadership positions in business development, institutional sales, channel expansion, and strategic marketing. He has a track record of achieving significant results across various business segments. During his tenure as Head of Institutional Sales and New age Business at Mahindra & Mahindra, he implemented programs targeting new business areas. He also introduced digitisation initiatives to enhance product resale value, expanded the rural market's contribution, and secured significant government contracts, including a deal with the Indian Army.

Company's future strategy

This fiscal year, the company plans to establish 25 new supercharging stations, aiming for a total of 500 stations. These stations will have capacities ranging from 360KW to 1.2MW. In the next six months, ChargeZone will deploy high-speed superchargers and strategically expand its network to enhance charging accessibility and speed for all four-wheeled EVs.

ChargeZone's growth strategy focuses on optimal station placement, route planning, and user convenience through mobile app integration and diverse payment options. The company prioritises safety measures, implementing 24/7 surveillance, emergency support, remote monitoring, and regular inspections. With the goal of electrifying 30,000 kilometers of highways and installing 1,000 charging stations, ChargeZone is building a comprehensive ecosystem to support EV adoption.
