The Tata Starbus EV features a modern design and advanced features for a comfortable and sustainable commuting experience. Tata Motors has received another order for 148 electric buses from the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). This adds to a previous order of 921 electric buses, strengthening sustainable urban transport in Bengaluru.
Bus supply, operation, and maintenance
TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd., a Tata Motors subsidiary, will handle the 12-year supply, operation, and maintenance of the Tata Starbus EV 12-meter low-floor buses. The new buses are expected to enhance BMTC's capacity for eco-friendly public transport, building on the success of the existing electric bus fleet. The order was announced on December 19, 2024.
The Tata Starbus EV features a modern design and advanced features for a comfortable and sustainable commuting experience. These zero-emission buses utilise next-generation architecture and advanced battery systems. The buses are designed for safe and convenient intra-city travel within Bengaluru.

Till date, Tata Motors' e-buses have cumulatively clocked more than 2.5 crore kilometres in Bengaluru alone. This has contributed to a significant reduction in tailpipe emissions, achieving a decrease of approximately 14,000t CO2.
