Domestic two-wheeler sales experienced a 19% decrease, dropping to 1,28,335 units from 1,58,370 units in December 2023.Bajaj Auto Ltd. reported a marginal (1%) year-over-year decrease in total vehicle sales, including exports, for December 2024. This amounted to 3,23,125 units sold, compared to 3,26,806 units in December 2023. While overall sales decreased marginally, domestic sales saw 15% drop, offset by a significant rise in exports.
“Total domestic sales (including commercial vehicles) declined 15% at 1,62,420 units in the previous month, as compared to 1,90,919 units sold in the same month last year,” stated the company.
ExportsTotal exports reached 1,60,705 units, a 18% increase from the 1,35,887 units exported in December 2023. From April to December 2024, the export grew at 12% with 13,73,595 units sold in 2024 when compared with 12,24,964 units in 2023.
Commercial vehicle salesCommercial vehicle sales, including exports, increased 16% in December 2024. Bajaj Auto reported 50,952 units sold, down from 43,805 units in December 2023. On export front the company grew 50%, 16,867 units in December 2024 corresponding to 11,256 units in the same month last year.
From April to December 2024, the commercial vehicle sales grew at 8% with 5,09,286 units sold in 2024 when compared with 4,71,251 units in 2023.
Two wheeler sales Two-wheeler sales, both domestic and export, totaled 2,72,173 units in December 2024. This represents a 4% decrease compared to the 2,83,001 units sold in December 2023.
