Hyundai Creta ElectricHyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed the Hyundai Creta Electric, its first localised electric SUV. The Hyundai Creta Electric is positioned as a groundbreaking electric SUV designed to set new benchmarks in India’s EV market. The EV is expected to be launched at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

The Creta brand has a strong following in India, with over 1.1 million owners. This demonstrates the brand’s established presence and customer loyalty within the Indian SUV market. HMIL aims to build on this success with the introduction of the electric version.
Design
The Hyundai Creta Electric’s exterior design blends bold SUV aesthetics with modern technology. It incorporates Hyundai’s global Pixel design language for EVs.
The vehicle features a pixelated graphic front grille with an integrated charging port and a similarly designed lower bumper. The rear of the vehicle also incorporates pixelated graphics on the bumper and LED tail lamps.
Active Air Flaps (AAF) manage airflow, contributing to cooling vehicle components and improving aerodynamic performance. R17 Aero Alloy Wheels with Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) tires further enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency.
Features
The Hyundai Creta Electric boasts a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.9 seconds (Long Range). This performance is intended to appeal to a wide range of drivers, from urban commuters to families and adventure enthusiasts. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology allows users to power external devices using the vehicle’s battery, both inside and outside the car. i-Pedal technology enables one-pedal driving, allowing drivers to control acceleration, deceleration, and stopping using only the accelerator pedal. A Shift-by-wire System provides intuitive gear control. A Digital Key feature allows users to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle using their smartphone or smartwatch.
Battery options
Two battery pack options are available: a 51.4 kWh (Long Range) battery offering a driving range of 473 km on a single charge, and a 42 kWh battery offering a range of 390 km.
Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes using DC charging. Using the 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box charger, a full charge from 10% to 100% can be achieved in 4 hours with AC home charging.
Variants
The Hyundai Creta Electric will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. Eight monotone and two dual-tone color options, including three matte colors, will be offered. A new ocean blue metallic with black roof option is also available.
HMIL is committed to promoting sustainable mobility in India, aligning with Hyundai’s global theme of ‘Progress for Humanity’. The company is focusing on battery localisation, EV infrastructure development, and the creation of innovative vehicles.
HMIL is expanding its network of fast public EV charging stations in India, with plans to have nearly 600 stations within the next seven years. The myHyundai app offers an 'EV Charge' feature, providing users access to over 10,000 EV charging points across the country.
