Following the Indian government’s intensified focus on technology-driven solutions for reducing road mishaps, Uno Minda’s Car DVR 2.0 reinforces its commitment to enhancing road safety for drivers.
The rising concerns over road safety in India are a significant challenge for infrastructure development. Millions of vehicles navigate congested roads daily, with reckless driving and low awareness of traffic rules compounding the problem. Responding to the growing demand for Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)-equipped devices, Uno Minda has introduced its new Car DVR 2.0 with Level 2 ADAS. This high-tech DVR, or dashcam, featuring 1080p resolution, is designed to enhance driver safety by providing real-time alerts about potential hazards.

Safety features suited for Indian roads

Rakesh Kher, CEO of Uno Minda’s Aftermarket Division, emphasised the company’s commitment to safety. He said “at Uno Minda, we are committed to providing our consumers with the best technology products in the aftermarket, empowering them with improved safety measures while driving. Road collisions result in significant losses, and with our all-new DVR 2.0, we introduce vital features such as Lane Departure Warning and Forward Vehicle Too Close Alert to help drivers navigate potential dangers and ensure their safety.”

High-resolution recording and ample storage

Equipped with a high-quality 1080p lens that captures every detail of the journey, the Car DVR 2.0 supports SD cards up to 128 GB and features loop recording, which automatically overwrites old footage. This ensures users need not worry about running out of storage space. Additionally, the device operates at an efficient 0.2 watts, minimising its impact on the vehicle’s battery.

Wide-angle view and seamless android connectivity

The DVR 2.0 features a 170-degree wide-angle lens, offering a comprehensive view of the vehicle’s surroundings. It connects seamlessly to Android infotainment systems via USB, with a dedicated app preloaded in its flash memory to enhance user experience. The app displays real-time driving information on connected Android devices.

Durable and affordable

Built to endure harsh road conditions, the Car DVR 2.0 is constructed with durable metal and ABS material. Its IP67 rating ensures it is dust- and water-resistant, making it reliable across diverse weather conditions. Priced affordably at INR 8999, the device comes with a one-year warranty and is available through major online and offline retail outlets.
